Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.  Exodus 20:12, NIV

But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. Psalm 131:2, NIV

The above verse often confused me, until I thought of the comfort a mother or grandmother brings to an upset child. A mother’s lap is safe, fun, secure, and often occupied by more than one child.
