Bible Doodle: Ephesians 1:11-18

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:11-13, NIV
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:11-13, The Message

Are you interested in reading the Bible in a new way, a way that connects in your brain and your heart differently? Try Doodling the Bible.

Here’s my method. Feel free to develop your own. Read the passage three times, each time asking God to reveal His word for you today. I like to use different translations.

As you take in God’s words, ask for a picture or a phrase that He has for you today. Then you sketch it out. It can be stick figures, a pencil sketch, or a photo. The level of artistic skill is not important. It is challenging your brain to understand what you read in a different way, because you have to express it differently.

Share your sketch with someone and explain what it means.
