Colossians 1:13-14 Out of the pit

We were (still are) wallowing in the pit–repeatedly sinning with no possibility of perfection or purpose. But the beauty of it is, our God loved us enough to bring about the most glorious and important intervention. God himself (through the person of his Son) paid the penalty for the sins of any and all who believe in Him. The cross is our ladder out of the pit.And what’s at the top of the ladder? A redemption life. Although we still sin, we ask and receive forgiveness so that we can go forward to mature and live more like Him. Praise God!

Colossians 1:13-14 (The Message)
God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating..
 
Why study the Bible this way? If you take it into your mind and heart enough to translate it into a picture or word, it becomes part of you. If you add a sentence or two of explanation, you then engage another part of your brain which cements God’s words even firmer into your heart and mind. If you want to remember it, you can think of what  you drew.
