18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Romans 1:18-20

Paul’s letter makes it pretty clear today that God is visible in the world that He created. My chart for Romans 1:18-20 is below.
GOD | PEOPLE | TRUTH | CREATION |
---|---|---|---|
God’s throne is in heaven | those not in fellowship with God: godless, wicked, supress truth, lack trust | The truth about God was made obvious to us in His Creation | God created the world |
He is angry & displeased at people sin, godlessness, & wickedness | We choose what we see, God’s truth or one we make up | God created the world & all that is in it | God made His basic qualities evident to all people in His creation |
He shows His anger, it erupts | We are without excuse for not seeing what God reveals to us | We can’t see God with our eyes, but can see evidence of his eternal power & divine nature | |
God’s eternal power & divine nature are visible in His creation |
Through Paul’s letter to me, I am challenged today:
When we choose to ignore the evidence of God that He has given us, when we choose science or human nature or other idols as gods, we deny the truth that God shows us every day. Our ignorant choices make Him angry, and He makes this displeasure obvious. In what way do I, each day, look at the world and focus on something else besides God? I need to change my lenses so that I see God all around me.
