“He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth.”
2 Samuel 23:4, NIV

Gray—my life is devoid of color. My responsibilities demand energy, but I have none. More out of habit than hope, I glance out of the window just as the sun finds a little hole in the clouds and plays a sparkling game within the gloom. It lasts only a moment, but when I turn back to work, my step is light.
God is waiting to empower you to get past the gray no matter how difficult the circumstance. It’s when you are at the end of yourself that God can do his best work. Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit.” There’s hope. God is on your side.
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule.

Pray with me: Lord, sometimes I feel wrapped in a pea-soup fog. I don’t know why I’m here or what I’m doing. When I can’t find my way, Lord, show me a glimmer of you. Help me to look for you in faith, knowing that your light is shining. Send your Holy Spirit wind to blow away my gloom and doom so I can bask in your brightness. Amen.
