Bible Doodle: Genesis 12:18-20

As Abram found out, lying is not a good strategy. Fear had made him forget to trust that God was in control, that the promises that God had made to him would really come true. Instead, Abram had counted on his own political strategies and clever dealings with Pharoah, He may have gotten rich, but he was driven from Egypt in disgrace.

And what happened to his relationship with Sarai? Do you think it ever would be the same again?


Pharaoh called for Abram, “What’s this that you’ve done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she’s your wife? Why did you say, ‘She’s my sister’ so that I’d take her as my wife? Here’s your wife back—take her and get out!” So Pharaoh ordered his men to get Abram out of the country. They sent him and his wife and everything he owned on their way.
