I get to choose my foundation that I build my life on. So do you.
I made God the center early on, but at times my foundation has been a little shaky, not because of God, but because of my lack. As I continue to seek God’s word, to understand it, to take it into my heart, it becomes more firmly planted inside me as well as under and around me. It is my homestead, and it requires my focus, attention, and willingness to dive deeply into obedience and love. When I do, it is visible and available to others.

Since it is Your Word, help me
to listen with my heart as well as my mind;
to seek to meet with You,
not just know about You;
to move beyond information intake
and into transformation.
Bring me out of neglect of my spiritual gift
SO THAT it courses in Your river
that is flowing through me. [1 Tim. 4:14]
Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening. [1 Sam. 3:10]
11-14 Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use. (1 Timothy 4:11-14, The Message)
10 Then God came and stood before him exactly as before, calling out, “Samuel! Samuel!”
Samuel answered, “Speak. I’m your servant, ready to listen.” (1 Samuel 3:19)
