Just say “No!”

Just say NO

Animals follow their instincts—they can’t say no. But if you’re human, you have the ability to choose either “yes” or “no.” That ability gives you access to freedom.

Distractions, blind alleys, seductive invitations, over-extending purchases, revenge…no matter what is on your list of enticements, you have the God-given ability to just say “no” and be set free to follow Jesus.

Say “no” to following your impulses, appetites, whims, and temptations—all of these are damaged by sin, and that makes them unreliable guides in any direction worth taking.

But don’t stop with “no.” Replace it with things of God. There is so much to say “yes” to, and when you hold to what is good, you are free to bear fruit.
