Kathie’s Roman Digs (Week 2)

5Through Christ, God has given us the privilege[c] and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people.
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Romans 1:5-7, NLT

Here’s my chart of Romans 1:5-7:

Paul, Me, All BelieversJesus ChristGod
appointed as apostles, teachers (5,6)He is our pathway to God (5,7)God appoints each of us a purpose: praise & worship
have privilege and authority to share Good News (5)Jesus is our master (1, 6)God provided a way of salvation (Good News, gospel) (5)
SO THAT others will “believe & obey” (5)Jesus is the conduit to God’s grace & peace (7)God calls us to himself (6)
belief & obedience go togetherGod is our father and loves us (7)
our purpose: to bring glory to His name (5)God gives us grace & peace (7)
We belong to Jesus (slaves/servants) (1,6)
We are called by God to be His own holy people (7)

God’s main message for me today through these verses:
Belief and obedience go together like macaroni and cheese. The purpose of my life is to mirror the image of God, to show and tell about His love, grace, peace, and salvation.

My Doodle: Paul was given a mission to share the Good News, and we are given the same one. It may not be our job, but it is our privilege and responsibility–with God-given authority.

What did you hear from God in these verses?
