Reflecting God

Do you have a to-do list for how you are supposed to live? Do you have a code or a list of rules that you have to keep? Do you feel enslaved by rules that are impossible to keep perfectly?

If so, I invite you to enter a life of freedom. How? By accepting the grace of God, His gift of salvation. When you do, the Holy Spirit lives inside you, and you are slowly transformed as we absorb the character of Jesus.

Jesus lived in plain sight for all to see. People flocked to him in response to the signs and wonders that they saw; these signs provided evidence that God was with Him.

During the time he [Jesus] was in Jerusalem, those days of the Passover Feast, many people noticed the signs he was displaying and, seeing they pointed straight to God, entrusted their lives to him.
John 2:23, MSG

Huge crowds followed Jesus constantly—following the miracles, the sign and wonders, and wondering who this man really was. In Matthew 5:1-16, we read that Jesus climbed a hillside, and only those who were really committed followers made the steep climb after him. Only they were so intrigued that they needed to hear what He had to say—they couldn’t get enough of words and the blessings He offered them. He turned their lives upside down.

In this study, we will listen to and hear Jesus words in Scripture and through the whispers of the Holy Spirit. His message is for us today as it was for those who lived long ago when Jesus became man and dwelt among us.

I invite to you to climb the hill which will sometimes be steeper and rockier than we would prefer. Climb to listen. Climb to take His words inside you, and stop to quietly transform them into pictures. They can be pictures that your draw or discover, photographs, or word graphs. God’s words are for YOU, and He created each of us with a unique way of hearing and making them a part of our lives.

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
Ephesians 4:21-25, NLT

We will do this together, each in our own ways, by bringing His words into our beings and bringing them back through our filters in pictures and words, drawn or photographed, written or graphed, doodled or perfected, painted and formed in clay, carved or spray-painted on a wall. God created each of us with unique talents and gifts which include how we hear His voice and how we express it.

I would love to work together with you sharing what and how you hear. Perhaps two or three of us can work together to complete a project through Holy Spirit connection. Let’s see where God leads us individually and together.

Mondays I will share a Scripture text, ask some questions, and give you a little background. We will let this germinate inside us and ask the Holy Spirit to help us express this in some way that reflects what it means for us today, in this day, in our lives, on this earth now, or as hope and promise for our future with Him in heaven.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE WILL BE: EPHESIANS 4:21-24 (above)

On Thursdays, I will share some of our creations: mine and yours, and that of others that I have found to express God’s words.

So, PLEASE SHARE by sending your works to me at KSEvenhouseWWV@gmail.com
