Bigger on the Inside

Like Dr. Who’s Tardis,

I am bigger on the inside.

It’s a mystery.

A woman-sized vessel
showing 70+ years of wear-and-tear,
scratched, stretched, and cracked;
this faded, finite container
still seeks what she does not know.

But inside–Oh, glorious mystery!
Inside flows a river of living water,
with great, unsearchable depths,
whose current reveals
all-surpassing power and authority
that comes from God.

It is a mystery
how this fragile clay vessel,
by simply seeking the Lord,
can be filled to overflowing
with infinity.

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:6-9, NIV
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Jeremiah 33:3, NIV
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power
is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 4:7, NIV
