This is a picture of my life–minus the leaks, rust, and pin-holes.
But it isn’t about gardening or a water feature in my garden. Instead it’s a visual reminder of THE constant flow of living water in my life.
Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” ~John 4:10 (NLT)
This is a picture of the Holy Spirit being poured into me until I’m full to overflowing. It’s about me becoming so full of the God’s love that it splashes out and pours out all around me.
It’s about me being used as a vessel that carries Jesus’ precious living water so that it will spill out of me.
My task is to be a consistent gardener, because to be full of the Spirit, I need daily care—tilling the soil, pulling the weeds, feeding with proper nutrients, watering, and basking in the sunshine, adapting to the seasons I’m in…
When I spend time in my garden, I’m open to the Holy Spirit, whose flow of strength, hope, love, and endurance is always there waiting for me. It’s a process. I’m not always full to the brim, and I won’t be until I’m in heaven.
The source is constant, never failing. My daily tasks are to trust, obey, and stay open to the flow.
