I just spent two weeks caring for my 95-year-old mother whose recent infection caused confusion and distress. We talked about this verse a lot–this is the hope she lives with. She trusts God’s promises for her, even when she’s not sure what today or tomorrow holds.

Faith lets us release control to the ruler of the universe, the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings. He has a room prepared for us in heaven, and has provided the way that we can live there because our sins are already paid for. So, every once in a while when we ask “why” or “when,” we always end with “it’s in God’s hands.” That brings us peace.
