I remember the first time someone saw my writing, doodling in my bible and their comment made me feel as though I was hell bound! I told them it helps me with understanding fuller what I’m reading and your bible Isaiah personal extension to God. Thank you for sharing your doodling…I love it and desire to doodle just as well…mine is no where as beautiful as yours…God bless 😊🥰
Tammy, I must confess that this one is my coloring, but not my original doodling. I do both. I’m a visual learner, and pictures help me remember and memorize. I have also found that when I want to take someting into myself and keep it there, it helps me to draw a picture of God’s words. Yes, His words are holy, but I believe He loves it when we find ways to bring them deeper into ourselves and hold them there, and the physical act of coloring/drawing helps that. It also aids in memory retention, especially for me in remembering where things are found in the Bible. I have drawn whole books of the Bible. When I’m not doing that, I often color to help me relax as I watch television, sit with my grandkids and husband, or just in the quiet by myself. It does all the same things with God’s words, and that is an act of praise and worship. So, the opinion of others cannot take that away from your communion with God.
You will see some of my drawings soon. I don’t worry about beautiful art, but the meaning behind the pictures.
Your fellow doodler, Kathie
