God of the Impossible

faithI believe in the God of the impossible–there is nothing He can’t do.

Easy words to say, but they have a profound effect on how I go about living this life with all its ups and downs.

The question I am asking myself today is: Does how I live reflect that belief?

The Impossibilities are His

The Israelites set out on foot from Rameses for Sukkoth. There were about 600,000 men, not counting women and children. (Gen. 12:37)

If you type in “skeptics and the Exodus” into Google, you’ll see a number of people who have written about how the Exodus of Israel out of Egypt was impossible. They speak of how it is unlikely 3 – 3.5 million people could enter into the desert with any hope of survival. The amount of provisions needed for such an endeavor make it humanly impossible. They would need:

  • 1,500 tons of food each day,
  • 4,000 tons of wood for cooking each day
  • 3.5 million gallons of water for drinking and washing every day
  • a camping area of 750 square miles

Impossible right? Not for God. When the Israelites entered into the desert, they were right where God wanted them to be: in a place of utter dependence upon Him.

Today, you are invited to be right where God wants you to be: in a place of utter dependence upon Him. Let Him handle the impossibilities of this day.

Lord, I yield to you today. You alone are my strength, my provision, my shield. I choose to step forward only as You lead and trust that You will provide for this day from Your heavenly storehouses. I trust and love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
