We all strive to be king of a hill–physical, financial, academic, beauty, charisma . . . We like heirarchy, especially if we are on top. If we’re not, we strive to get to that prime spot and knock others lower down on the hill. But God tells us that isn’t what really matters. He is. He matters. He loves. And He sees us wherever on or under the hill we are. And our position doesn’t matters to Him. What matters is whether or not we know Him.
Colossians 3:11 (New Living Translation)
In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.
Colossians 3:11 (The Message)
All the old fashions are now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ.
