WWJD–What would Jesus do? This expression probably doesn’t have the impact today that it had to many of us when it first was printed on t-shirts, bracelets, necklaces, and billboards. But it is still a question Christ’s followers are called on to make in every situation of every day. And we prepare ourselves to be able to act on the answer to that question by what we put on and in ourselves every day. When stress hits, do I have direct access to God’s kindness, gentleness, compassion, humility, and patience. I don’t have to make my own–God gives me access to his. All I have to do is care for it, clean it, put it on, use it. What’s in your closet?
Colossians 3:12 (New Living Translation)
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Colossians 3:12 (The Message)
So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.
