Oil and Water.

Truth and Grace.

Urgency and Advent.

These things don’t mix.

Except when God is a part of the picture.

God anoints you as his child and gives you living water.

God knows the real you and, by his grace, loves you anyway.

But because the truth demands justice, his son came to earth to satisfy justice and pay for all sin.

We need to wait–we have no idea when he will come again–but we need to be ready because it could be any time.

So I am waiting in anticipation

to celebrate his birth

and I am waiting in urgency

while filling my mind, my heart, and my life–with him.
